What Does Diversity Mean?

  • Literally means “variety” and “differences”;
  • Hospitals have increasingly diverse patient, physician and staff populations;
  • Hospitals are challenged by the diverse cultural and language (C&L) barriers, now being addressed in new TJC standards.
